OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: CDC reports that the epidemic of Listeria monocytogenes infections related to Big Olaf Brand Ice Cream Products increased in size to 25 diseases in 11 states. Twenty-four people were hospitalized and one person died.

PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT: FDA warns pet owners not to feed their cats Darwin’s Natural Pet Products Natural Selections Antibiotic and Grain Free Chicken Recipe for Cats (Lot 9116; manufactured May 2, 2022) and Darwin’s Natural Pet Products Natural Selections Antibiotic-Free and Grain-Free Turkey Recipe for Cats (Lot 9121; manufactured May 4, 2022) due to Salmonella contamination. The FDA recommended that the manufacturer voluntarily recall these products and notify the public, but the company did not.

Allergy Alert: That’s Nutrition, LLC remember Dark chocolate truffles (various pack sizes, flavors and lots/best before dates) due to undeclared milk. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Allergy Alert: Royal Crest Dairy remember Farmer’s 2% Reduced Fat Chocolate Milk (pint; code date AUG-22) due to undeclared eggs.

Animals Food safety reminder: Primal Pet Foods Inc. remember Primal Raw Frozen Dog Patties Beef Formula (Lot W10068709; Best Before 05/22/23) due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled product was distributed in Maryland, Georgia, Texas and British Columbia in late April 2022.

Canada

Food safety reminder: Dairy mother CA remember Mother Dairy Brand Paneer Fresh Cheese (340g; Best before 10/23/2022; UPC 6 98708 98763 3) due to E. coli contamination. The recalled product was sold in Alberta.

Pet Food Safety Recall: Primal Pet Foods, Inc. remember Primal Raw Frozen Dog Patties Beef Formula (6 lbs; Lot #W10068709; Best Before 05/22/23; UPC 850334004164; Product of USA) due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled product was sold in British Columbia:
