There is a growing trend among pet owners to know what’s in their pet’s food. We want fresh, we want organic, we want natural ingredients that are good for their health and well-being.
CHESAPEAKE, Virginia (WVEC) – We all want our pets to be happy and above all healthy and it really starts with what we feed them. These days, it’s easier than ever to provide our pets with the highest quality food possible without the hassle.
There are still traditional pet stores where you can get in the car, drive to the store, and buy your pet’s favorite food. But now you can even log into online pet stores like chewy.com and receive it directly at home each month with a subscription.
There is also a growing trend among pet owners to know what’s in their pet’s food. We want fresh, we want organic, we want natural ingredients that are good for their health and well-being.
How about a solution to all of this: tailor-made, fresh, natural and delivered to your door, especially for your pet?
Bentley and I discovered this with a company called NameLastNow. Think of it as a HelloFresh or Blue apron, the only difference is you don’t have to cook it and it’s, well, for dogs and not humans.
Founded in 2015 by husband-and-wife entrepreneurs Alex and Zach, the couple needed something new out of necessity for their own four-legged child who wasn’t doing very well on a traditional diet. They felt it was time to bring something to market that offered high quality, fresh food for your pet and came up with NomNomNow.
Zach remembers how it all started. “It probably started in the kitchen of our 75 square foot apartment in San Francisco on an electric stove to boil potatoes for about 10 hours straight.”
They say there is something that drives their business: “The health of pets is our mission and this is something that obesity in pets – for dogs it’s 55% are in. overweight or obese, 60% of cats – for us it is really important for this part to control. “
Obesity in pets is a growing problem and leads to many health problems as they get older.
NomNomNow is prepared weekly and delivers perfectly portioned, still cold, ready-to-eat meals to your doorstep. And if you are worried that your puppy will take a liking to the new food, well, Bentley gives him 2 legs!
