CES 2022 Panel Recap on Food Tech and Experiential Retailing

The onset of the pandemic sparked a huge step forward in e-commerce, as that is all that was available for a very large part of the time in 2020. However, the brick and mortar is far from dead – and some companies do. intriguing, non-traditional things with their in-store retail presence. That was the point to remember from the “Experiential Retail” panel at CES 2022 on Thursday. The panel featured Tim Bush, NPD Group Commercial Director, Jim Heilmann, General Manager of Las Vegas Event Space ZONE15, and Liz Bacelar, Global Head of Innovation for Estee Lauder. More and more people are cooking at home, but they cook in different ways that suit their specific diets, tastes, budgets and desires. Technology has made it easier. In a conference hosted by The spoon‘s Michael Wolf, Robin Panelists List of Suvie, Khalid Aboujassoum from Other laboratories, Dr Dochui Choi from Samsung, and Kai Schaeffner of Thermomix discussed what will follow for food technology. Food tech companies use their consumer feedback to find out what people are eating and what tastes they prefer. According to List, however, what we’re missing is a way to bring it all together quickly. Potential appliances filling this gap include Suvie, which refrigerates ingredients until ready to cook and automatically cooks inserted foods when the preset time is reached. There’s also the Thermomix, which guides users through recipes with its one-pot blender and scale, where it can chop, sauté, caramelize and more.
