Dynamico Space, San Francisco Launches 2022 Mentorship Program with DTI Region 6 Filipino Startups

A virtual pitch and networking event for the 2021 DTI Region 6 Slingshot Winners and Finalists, featuring Dynamico Space, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, and the Philippine Trade & Investment Center – Silicon Valley.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, UNITED STATES, Jan. 19, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Dynamico Space, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Philippines in San Francisco and the Philippine Trade & Investment Center – Silicon Valley, hosted a virtual event of presentation and networking for the 2021 DTI Region 6 Slingshot Winners and Finalists.

The program is part of the “Philippines-Silicon Valley Startup Program” aimed at helping Filipino startups gain exposure in the United States and expand the network of Filipino founders. The program also targets US startups looking to expand their market into Southeast Asia and showcase the Philippines as a viable location for expansion into the region.

“Our economics team here at the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, Philippine Trade and Investment Silicon Valley and Dynamico, is ready to support Filipino startups by providing mentoring and networking opportunities. Dynamico was represented by Mr. JR Calanoc, CEO and co-founder of Dynamico Space. Ms. Nancy Hwang Dynamico, Head of Mentoring, and the mentors: Ms. Jessica Tsoong, Investor and Advisor at Relay Ventures and Founder of WiFi Slam (acquired by Apple); and Mr. Matthew Brightman, Advisor, Entrepreneur and Sr. Product Manager at Google

Startups that have participated include:

TyresQ Inc. (Iloilo), a machine that reverses old tires so they can be used in something new and useful like flower pots/planters; pet beds and tubs; feeders for animals; water basins; tables and chairs with storage capacity; bins/compost bins; water storage tanks; aquariums; and septic tanks.

Viqua Water Filtration and Purification System Supply (VIQUA) – (Aklan), a water treatment system that can provide inexpensive drinking water to people with disabilities and other members of marginalized communities.

Plantsville Health (Negros Occ), a social enterprise, which integrates Philippine cinnamon preservation and health/non-food food processing to sustain smallholder farmers, marketers.

Ayo Tech Corporation (Negros Occ), advanced wound care management using negative pressure wound therapy.

IF Green Technologies (Negros Occ), an urban agriculture company specializing in aquaponics and hydroponics.

Asignature (Iloilo), an educational platform for students with limited bandwidth and internet access.

Overall, the mentors were impressed with the solutions and the big problems the startups are solving. The focus on green and/or social wellbeing had an impact and both mentors expressed how rewarding it was to learn about the startup ecosystem in the Philippines through the problems and solutions identified by the founders of DTI Region 6 startups.
