ATLANTA, GEORGIA, UNITED STATES – The International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) returns to an in-person event in January with a feed schedule that will focus on regulatory changes and provide industry outlook for 2022.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 event was only virtual. The 2022 in-person event will take place January 25-27 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Organizers said they looked forward to welcoming visitors from around the world.
“The United States has announced that travel restrictions for international visitors vaccinated against COVID-19 will ease in November,” said IPPE show management. “We look forward to welcoming our national and international participants to IPPE 2022.”
IPPE 2022 will feature a full week of education programs, including new technologies, show events, and networking opportunities with key leaders in the feed, meat and poultry industries. The event brings together expertise from the American Feed Industry Association, the North American Meat Institute and the US Poultry & Egg Association.
With the return to an in-person event, IPPE is taking action to prevent any further spread of COVID-19 or African swine fever. The IPPE leadership is monitoring the changing conditions and will follow state guidelines regarding COVID-19 and adjust operations on site as necessary.
Several safety initiatives will be incorporated, including encouraging vaccination of participants, encouraging masks for unvaccinated participants, frequent disinfection, hand sanitization stations, and social distancing where appropriate.
To protect against the spread of ASF, higher levels of biosecurity will be in place, including requiring all international travelers to remain free from contact with pigs and other farm animals or animals. poultry for at least five days before visiting the IPPE. The PPI prohibits the distribution of any bulk or packaged sample of feed ingredients or additives. If such items are on display, they must be in sealed containers and taken away at the end of the event.

AFIA will provide an update on the Feed Installation Program of the Year and nominate the winner of the Commercial Feed Installation of the Year 2021, as well as discuss new educational tools for animal feed manufacturers.
Several topics are on the agenda for the AFIA pet food conference on January 25, including pet food labeling, export trends, human resources in the industry, regulatory updates and best practices for dealing with cybersecurity and ransomware. AFIA will also announce the recipient of the annual Friend of Pet Food award at the conference.
