Live poultry and small animal markets arrive in the Putnam Valley

There are a lot of things that came out of the global pandemic. Distance learning, working from home and the desire to return to the land. People suddenly wanted country life. Grow their own vegetables and raise small farm animals. But how do you go about achieving this goal? How about starting with animals?

This weekend, November 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., you can head to the Putnam Valley Grange Hall at 128 Mill Street in Putnam Valley for its indoor poultry and small farm animal market. Among the animals that you can find in the market, you will find chicks, hens, roosters, turkeys, ducks, geese, rabbits and other small animals. Entrance to the market is free and they will also have other vendors with non-animal items like crafts. If you have animals or poultry to sell, come see us. Sellers are welcome, and there is no charge to set up and sell your goods.

If you are trying to start a small farm, this market may be just what you need to get started. If you are trying to make room on your small farm and want to sell, this is also perfect for you. If you just want to pet rabbits, that’s okay. Stop by the Putnam Valley Grange, everyone is welcome.

If you are interested in attending the Poultry and Small Farm Animal Market but for some reason cannot make it to the market this weekend, they will do three more. Saturday November 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday December 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday December 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The markets are covered and will be held rain or shine.
